Painting & wallpaper in Dubai

Painting services in Dubai built to last past one summer

Our painting services in Dubai start with the part most painters rush: preparation. Cracks filled, walls sanded, new gypsum primed, then two coats of Jotun paint. It takes longer on day one, and that is why it does not start peeling by the second summer.

  • Preparation done properly, not skipped
  • Two coats of Jotun paint
  • Furniture moved and covered

Why paint fails early

Why a cheap repaint starts peeling by the second summer

Most of a repaint is preparation. When that is rushed, the paint looks fine on the day and then fails in ways another coat cannot fix.

Cracks

The cracks were painted over

Hairline cracks in gypsum and plaster open and close as the building heats and cools. Paint bridges them for a few weeks. They need raking out and filling first.

Primer

New gypsum was not sealed

Fresh gypsum and filler soak up paint unevenly. Without a primer the finish looks patchy in daylight and the top coat never bonds properly.

Damp

Damp was painted, not fixed

Bubbles near AC units, windows and bathroom walls are usually water behind the paint. Painting over them hides the stain until it comes straight back through.

Dust

The walls were never cleaned

Fine dust and kitchen grease stop paint from sticking. A wall that looks clean still needs wiping down before the first coat goes on.

Finish

The wrong finish for the room

Flat matt in a kitchen or a child's room marks the first time someone wipes it. Busy rooms need a washable finish.

Coverage

One coat is not a repaint

A single coat over a different colour shows patches in daylight and wears through faster. Two full coats is the minimum we apply.

The process

Five stages, and most come before the paint

You know the price, colours and finish before any furniture moves.

01 01

Photos, colours and price

Send photos of the rooms on WhatsApp. We look at the walls, check for damp and cracks, and agree colours, finishes and the price with you.

02 02

Protect the room

Furniture moved to the middle and covered, floors sheeted, sockets and fittings masked.

03 03

Fill, sand and prime

Cracks raked out and filled, surfaces sanded smooth, repairs and new gypsum primed.

04 04

Two coats

Two full coats of Jotun paint, with drying time in between so the second coat bonds.

05 05

Walk round and snag

We check every wall with you in daylight and touch up anything you are not happy with.

Finishes and wallpaper

Which finish for which room

The colour gets all the attention. The finish decides how the wall copes with daily life.

Matt

A soft, flat look that hides small dents and marks in the wall. Best on ceilings and in rooms that do not get touched much.

Best for:Bedrooms, ceilings, living rooms
Watch for:Marks when wiped

Silk and eggshell

A slight sheen that wipes clean without polishing the wall. The practical choice for rooms that get used hard.

Best for:Hallways, kids' rooms, kitchens
Watch for:Shows uneven walls more than matt

Gloss and enamel

Hard, shiny and hard-wearing. Used on doors, frames, skirting and metalwork rather than walls.

Best for:Doors, skirting, railings
Watch for:Needs careful prep to look smooth

Wallpaper

Texture and pattern that paint cannot give you. The wall behind it has to be dry and sealed, or it lifts at the seams.

Best for:Feature walls, bedrooms, offices
Watch for:Humidity and damp walls
Compare the quotes

Two painting quotes for the same room

A lower price usually means fewer hours on site. Those hours come out of the preparation, because that is the part you cannot see when the job is handed over.

The quick repaint

  • One coat over the old colour.
  • Cracks painted over, not filled.
  • No primer on patches or new gypsum.
  • Furniture pushed aside, floors half covered.

The proper repaint

  • Cracks raked out, filled and sanded.
  • Primer on every repair and new surface.
  • Two full coats of Jotun paint.
  • Everything covered, snagged with you at the end.
When to repaint

How often Dubai homes need painting

There is no fixed rule. These are the points where we usually see walls needing attention.

Rental move-out Each tenancy Many tenancy contracts ask for the home to be handed back freshly painted.
Kids' rooms and hallways Every 2 to 3 years Hands, bags and scuffs wear through washable finishes too.
Living rooms and bedrooms Every 4 to 5 years Sooner if the colour has faded or the walls are marked.
Kitchens and bathrooms When marks appear Grease and steam show first. Check for damp before repainting.
Villa exteriors Check every summer Sun-facing walls fade and chalk faster than shaded ones.
Moving out soon?

Book move-out painting a week or two before handover. It leaves time for the paint to cure and for any snags before the inspection.

FAQ

Painting questions

It depends on the size of the rooms, the ceiling height, the state of the walls and how much preparation they need. Send photos of the rooms on WhatsApp and we reply with a price. Every quote includes two coats of Jotun paint.

It depends on the number of rooms and how much preparation the walls need. We give you the number of days with the quote, so you can plan around it.

No. We move furniture to the middle of the room and cover it, sheet the floors and mask fittings before we start. Fragile or valuable items are best moved by you beforehand.

Yes. We work room by room so the rest of the home stays usable. Ask about a low-odour paint if anyone at home is sensitive to smells.

Yes, including feature walls. We check the wall is dry and sound first, because wallpaper on a damp or dusty wall lifts at the seams.

If you have the paint code from the tin or a past invoice, send it and we will use the same colour. Without a code, faded paint is hard to match exactly, so repainting the whole wall is often the safer choice.
